Continuing Education Approval
(process takes approximately 4 weeks)

Program Providers/Sponsors of Events for RD's

TDA represents 1300 ADA members who are food and nutrition experts in our state. Thank you for considering the offer of continuing education credits for our members at your next professional or business event. Below are the steps to have your program reviewed for continuing education credits.

1. Print off and complete the prior approval form. Click here to download the form.

2. Fee Schedule: $20 to review a single continuing education activity
$25 late fee for requests submitted after the 4 week deadline
Requests received 2 weeks or less prior to the program won't be processed.

3. Send the completed form with TWO copies of the professional program or outline (or bibliographies if Journal Club) to the address listed in #5.

4. Include the credentials of each speaker (vitae or resume) if not listed on the program.

5. Include check for the appropriate fee made payable to the Tennessee Dietetic Association, Submit THREE
copies of the approval form, check and information specified above to:

What's Next After You Submit The Event For Approval

There are 3 types of action that can be taken on an application

  • Approval when the application and material substantiate that the criteria are met. You will be notified in writing, a copy of the Approval Request Form will be returned with the prior approval reporting forms.
  • Deferral  when the application substantiates limitations in meeting criteria that can be resolved immediately. You will be asked to submit additional documentation.
  • Denial when the application does not meet the criteria of the Commission on Dietetic Registration
