Lecturer, Nutrition and Dietetics
 
The School of Human Ecology at Tennessee Tech University invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer position in Nutrition and Dietetics to begin August 1, 2020.  It is a three year contract renewable based on satisfactory performance review.  The Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) at Tennessee Tech is an ACEND accredited undergraduate program. The successful candidate will be expected to teach nutrition and dietetics undergraduate courses, and other courses as needed; as well as assist with advising, mentoring and retention of students. 
 
Minimum qualifications: 
·       Master’s degree in nutrition or a closely related field by start date of employment
 
Preferred qualifications: 

  • At least two years teaching experience at the college level is preferred
  • Credentialing as a registered dietitian/nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Ability to achieve State of Tennessee Licensure as a dietitian/nutritionist by the conclusion of the first year of employment
  • Advanced terminal degree in nutrition or a closely related field by start date of employment
  • Two years of experience as a registered dietitian/nutritionist (RDN)
  • Evidence of experience in advising and mentoring students 
  • Experience with an ACEND accredited dietetics program, including course and curriculum development
  • Ability to deliver courses via distance/online platforms
  • Active membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in both university and community settings with faculty, staff, students, and community groups of diverse backgrounds
