The Academy will commemorate its centennial throughout 2017. One of the celebrations is marked by us holding the May Board meeting in Cleveland concurrently with the Ohio affiliate and the Cleveland district dietetic association. Please plan on arriving the morning of Thursday, May 18 and departing after 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20. Our internal planning team has worked with the Cleveland affiliate to host an exhibit at the Dittrick Museum of Medical History. More information will be coming soon.

Today’s Eat Right Weekly will prominently feature the 100-year anniversary logo and encourages members to learn more about the centennial by visiting our new webpage often for updates. We will soon post a digital celebration kit, containing fun and inviting social media tools, presentations and Foundation information for Affiliates, DPGs and MIGs to join in on the festivities. In addition, the new webpage includes a journey through the milestones in the Academy’s history.

Lucille says it best in the press release that we will be distributing this week:

“Honoring our legacy means unflinchingly addressing the health challenges of the present day, our present century and the next. The Academy's vision for the Second Century is grounded in an extraordinary commitment to collaboration, a focus on service and an emphasis on creating a world where people and communities flourish because of the transformational power of food and nutrition.”

We encourage you to share this information with members and start generating excitement for our big celebration at FNCE in October.

Best regards,

Patricia M. Babjak
