Ingrid Knight, RDN, LD is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and the Owner and President of Ingrid
Knight, RD and Associates, Inc. a private practice located in Athens, Georgia with additional Georgia
locations and multiple Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. Ingrid Knight, RD and Associates, Inc. also
provides video counseling using telehealth, with Registered Dietitian Nutritionists licensed in Georgia,
Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.
Ingrid offers private practice mentoring through her PPD insurance enrollment and mentoring
program. She is also an affiliate with Simple Practice EMR, and provides training and set up for Simple
Practice users.
Ingrid is a founding member of Nutrition Practice Network (NPN), an online membership site

Bulking Season: Evaluation of Protein Requirement in Critically Ill Patients

Dr. Chris Buckley is an Assistant Professor of Practice at Union University College of Pharmacy who currently practices in the surgical intensive care unit at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Dr. Buckley received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Tennessee at Martin, Master of Science in Biology from the University of Memphis, and Doctor of Pharmacy from Union University College of Pharmacy. Dr. Buckley completed his PGY1 residency at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN and then completed a PGY2 residency at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Regional One Health in Memphis, TN, specializing in critical care and nutrition support. Dr. Buckley has several publications involving nutrition support, was awarded the 2020 ASPEN Pharmacy Section New Practitioner of the Year award, and most recently was awarded the 2022 American College of Clinical Pharmacy’s Critical Care PRN Junior Investigator of the Year. Dr. Buckley’s current research interests include protein requirements in critically ill patients.

Sylvia Escott-Stump is a Teaching Faculty member at University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has authored 9 editions of Nutrition and Diagnosis-Related Care; 5 editions of Krause’s Food and the Nutrition Care Process; and 3 editions of Nutritional Foundations and Clinical Applications: A Nursing Approach.  Sylvia served on the Board of the International Confederation of Dietetic Associations. At the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, she served as President; Speaker of the House; Chair of the Standardized Language task force, Nutrition Educators and Preceptors Council, and the Clinical Nutrition Management practice group. Her honors include the Academy’s Medallion Award, Distinguished Lecture Award, Outstanding Dietitian of the Year (North Carolina and Pennsylvania), and Distinguished Alumni Award from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Katherine is the Registered Dietitian with the FedEx Health Centers in Memphis for last five years. She attributes her success to her broad background, education and desire for making the Memphis FedEx population nutritionally fit. 

She has a BS in both Biology and Dietetics and Nutrition with a MS in Dietetic and Nutrition from Florida International University in Miami, Fl.  She has also earned a graduate certification in Sports Nutrition and Dietary Supplements from University of Memphis.

As a wellness health educator for many years with corporate populations she has increased dietary change and awareness of nutrition and medical issues on a daily basis with employees and other health professionals. 

She has a combination of nutritional counseling, clinical nutrition and wellness education. Her core of nutritional counseling comes from The Renfrew Center, Coconut Creek, FL and Fairhaven Eating Disorder Centers in Cordova, FL. She created a variety of nutrition restoration classes and programs for all the eating disorder populations. Her diverse nutritional counseling with mindfulness, behavior change and motivating Interviewing techniques comes from her graduate certification and current employer.

Outside the employment area Katherine enjoys being in her second term for the Memphis Academy Nutrition and Dietetics’ Public Policy Chair, Board Member and TAND Advocacy Pillar. In addition she is a member of the MNT affinity group.

Exploring Sustainability within Healthy and Sustainable Food Systems

Marianne Smith Edge, MS, RDN, LD, FADA, FAND is Founder and Principal, The AgriNutrition Edge, a consultancy committed to bridging the gap of understanding across the food value chain through strategic counsel and communications. Marianne is a 6th generation farm owner, speaker, facilitator and produces the Meet Met at the Table blog and The AgriNutrition Edge Report newsletter. She is serves on the Board of Advisors for Curious Plot and is an assistant Adjunct Professor, Department of Human Nutrition & Dietetics, at the University of Kentucky. 

Prior to founding The AgriNutrition Edge, Marianne served as Senior Vice President, Nutrition & Food Safety Communications for the International Food Information Council (IFIC) in Washington, DC. Before joining IFIC, she was the owner of MSE and Associates, LLC providing strategic nutrition and foodservice consulting services for the food and healthcare industry.  Marianne brings over 35 years of experience to her clients as an experienced communicator, strategic planner, and facilitator. 

Marianne is a former president of The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and a member of the Institute for Food Technologists (IFT) and the American Society for Nutrition (ASN). She currently serves as chair of the Foundation for Healthy Kentucky. Marianne is a Council for Agricultural Research, Extension and Teaching (CARET) delegate for the University of Kentucky and was recently appointed as the national CARET liaison to the Board of Human Sciences. She is a co-author of over 30 peer-reviewed publications and a member of the Board of Editors for Nutrition Today. Marianne served two terms on the USDA National Research, Extension, Education, & Economics Advisory Board, the advisory board to the Secretary of Agriculture. 

Marianne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics from the University of Kentucky where she was a former member of the Board of Trustees. She has a master’s degree in public health-nutrition from Western Kentucky University and earned a certification in Appreciative Inquiry from the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University.
