Goals and objectives for TAND if elected:

As a practicing dietitian for nearly 8 years I have seen many aspects of nutrition care which provides me with critical insight needed to lead and further the profession as President Elect-Elect for the Tennessee Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (TAND). I am currently the President-Elect for the Memphis Area Pediatric Nutrition Association (MAPNA). This position will cultivate my leadership skills on a smaller scale to better serve the nutrition and dietetics population on a larger scale through TAND. With conversations regarding licensure compact gaining attention, I believe this is a prime opportunity to partner with the Tennessee General Assembly to increase awareness for the field of dietetics and expand Medical Nutrition Therapy reimbursement. I enjoy working collaboratively and appreciate the collective role each member of the Board of Directors plays in TAND’s success. I look forward to serving alongside like-minded individuals to meet the needs of the profession and would appreciate your support.

I have developed and implemented food and nutrition education programming at Second Harvest, and I support the Nutrition Educators in scheduling, planning, and delivering said programming to children, adolescents, adults, and seniors in our 18-county service area. Additionally, I partner with the faculty at UTK on various projects and precept nutrition students and dietetic interns.

Goals and objectives for TAND if elected:

As the CPI Chair Elect Elect, I plan to:

  1. Represent dietitians in the charitable food system across Tennessee in addition to other professional domains within the dietetic field.
  2. Utilize my planning and digital design skills to support the CPI Chair and CPI Chair Elect in preparing for and executing TAND-wide professional development and events.
