Advanced Practice Specialty Certification Scholarship

This application form is only applicable for Tennessee Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (TAND) members. The scholarship was created to advance education and skills of registered dietitians in the state of Tennessee. Funds are utilized for education and testing for specified certifications.

NOTE: Certifications are not limited to CDR Board Certifications. Certifications that contribute to CDR continuing education hours and are listed on the CDR website can be used. Applicant must have passed certification exam within 12 months prior to applying for this scholarship.

The scholarship recipient will be called upon to share insights gained through training at the district level, which provides a continuing education opportunity for local members.

Student Scholarships

TAND offers up to $500 to assist with educational costs for each of the scholarships noted below:

  • Undergraduate Academic Scholarship
  • Graduate/Dietetic Internship/FEM Graduate Academic Scholarship

These scholarships are meant to recognize dietetics students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic ability and professional potential.


– Enrolled in an ACEND accredited dietetic education program in Tennessee – see application for specific requirements
– Student Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics with TAND as your designated affiliate
– Minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
– Have not previously been awarded any TN Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics scholarship

Applications must include:

1. Completed application form.

2. Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended.

3. Proof of enrollment in or acceptance to a college/university or dietetic internship.

4. A letter which includes your
    – Unique abilities and qualifications that make you appropriate for receiving this award
    – Professional goals.

5. Two letters of recommendation submitted* to by:
    – Your academic advisor (if enrolled in Graduate program) OR Program Director (if enrolled in Dietetic Technician Program, Didactic Program, or Internship)
    – A registered dietitian who has supervised a clinical or field training experience OR a registered dietitian instructor/educator OR a present or former employer

​​    *Recommendation Letters must be:
    – Emailed by the person who writes them, to
    – Attached to the email in PDF format
    – The subject should read, “Recommendation Letter for Undergrad Scholarship for [Name of the Applicant]”
